Shelve

Privacy Policy

Shelve for macOS · Effective 19 September 2026

Short version: Shelve does not collect any data. The app has no network permission, contains no analytics, advertising or third-party code, and everything it reads stays on your Mac.

Who is responsible

Shelve is developed and published by Šarūnas Grigaliūnas, an individual developer based in Kaunas, Lithuania (European Union). For anything related to privacy, write to forall@tuta.com.

Data the app collects

None. The developer receives no information from the app about you, your Mac or your files. In App Store terms, the app's privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

What the app reads on your Mac

To do its job, Shelve processes the following information locally, in memory, on your device:

This information is never transmitted, is not written to any log or report, and is discarded when you quit the app.

What the app stores

Shelve has no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync and no in-app purchases.

What the app changes

Shelve moves items to the Trash only when you select them and confirm. It has no permanent-delete function. Items remain recoverable from the Trash until you empty it.

Network access

Shelve runs in the macOS App Sandbox without the network entitlements. The operating system therefore prevents it from making or accepting network connections. There is no telemetry, crash reporting, update check or advertising in the app.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party SDKs or libraries and shares data with no one.

If you obtain Shelve from the Mac App Store, Apple processes your download and, if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in macOS settings, may provide the developer with anonymised crash and usage statistics. That processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts and no embedded third-party content. It is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser user agent and the time of the request in order to deliver pages and protect the service. The developer does not use this data to identify visitors. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details, including international data transfers.

If you email the developer, your address and message are used only to reply to you and are deleted when the conversation is no longer needed.

Children

Shelve is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing held about you to access, correct or erase. If you have contacted the developer by email, you may ask for a copy of that correspondence or for its deletion. If you are in the European Economic Area you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change. Earlier versions are available on request.
